The Lute Society: Library of Books and Playing Editions

THE LUTE SOCIETY ARCHIVE

Page under construction! More contents will be added gradually. So far only the Donald Gill donation has been catalogued, by Donald Gill Librarian Djilda Segerman.

Thanks to generous donations (including those of Alan Jones, Donald Gill, the Richard Dixon bequest, and the anonymous donor of 2009) we now have a substantial archive of scores for the use of members, and may be able to supply pieces of music or information.

We don’t wish to undermine the activities of current publishers, and have to respect the copyright laws, but can often supply scans or photocopies on a de minimis basis, and lend whole editions.

Visiting in person and borrowing books by post or in person may well be possible, please contact the secretary if items in the collection are of interest.

Bear in mind that many works here may be possible to find at www.archive.org, or books.google.com imslp.org/ copac.jisc.ac.uk/ Westminster Music Library, the British Library www.bl.uk/ or ABE books, www.abebooks.com/
